Emergency Management
The purpose of the Emergency Management Program is to enhance the City's ability to respond to and recover from the effects of natural or man-made disasters; to administer the Federal and State Disaster Assistance Programs; and to serve as the liaison to local emergency responders and other emergency management agencies in San Bernardino County.
The Emergency Management Program provides the following:
- Internal Preparedness training and information to City staff
- Coordinates community emergency preparedness informational campaigns and education
- Hosts the Annual Emergency Preparedness Workshop
- Serves as the staff liaison to the Chino Hills Auxiliary Radio Team (CHART)
- Plans and implements disaster drills in conjunction with other agencies
- Maintains Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Emergency Service Worker readiness
- Maintains emergency shelter, food, water, and equipment supplies for the City
- Serves as the Coordinator for the Annual National Night Out event
- Responsible for the Updates to the Hazard Mitigation Plan and the Emergency Operations Plan
- Coordinating the activation of Warming & Cooling Centers
