What is National Night Out?
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police/community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
NNO is designed to:
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships
How Can I Participate?
Neighborhoods across the nation participate each year by joining together with their neighbors, families, and friends to host their own neighborhood events. Examples of ideas include potlucks, ice cream socials, block gatherings, and activities for kids.
Your participation in this annual event tells others that you:
Want to make your neighborhood safer
Want to build a strong relationship with public safety officials
The City has been helping neighborhoods organize NNO events since 2005. In 2021, the City's NNO event was ranked 10th in the nation for cities with a population between 50,000 and 100,000. There were 16 events and over 800 residents participated!
