Is Recycled Water safe?

Yes; recycled water goes through a series of purification steps that clean the water to make it safe for virtually all non-potable uses, including landscape irrigation, agricultural farming and industrial applications. Recycled water originates from wastewater; therefore its use is strictly regulated and monitored by the State Water Resources Control Board Division of Drinking Water (DDW). These guidelines are precautionary measures intended to protect the public from any potential risk associated with recycled water. The water delivered through the City’s system will meet DDW standards suitable for body contact recreation.
