Soquel Canyon Parkway Pavement Rehabilitation-Phase 2

The City has allocated funds to rehabilitate Soquel Canyon Parkway due to existing road conditions.  To address traffic impact and related concerns, the project has been divided into two phases.

Phase 1 - Focused on the City-owned road right-of-way from Pipeline Avenue to Pomona Rincon Road, and was completed in Spring 2022.

Phase 2 - Targets City and CalTrans-owned road right-of-way from Bristol Lane/Pomona Rincon Road to the City Boundary at Chino Creek.  Planned work includes, but is not limited to; AC grind and overlay, crack sealing, pavement removal and repairs, traffic signal reconfiguration at the Fairfield Ranch Road intersection with video detection, and slurry seal application.  Plans have been approved by CalTrans and City Council.

Project Description:
The project involves pavement rehabilitation, restriping, ADA ramp upgrades, and video detection installation at street intersections, with CalTrans right-of-way requiring an Encroachment Permit.

Location:
Soquel Canyon Parkway between Pomona Rincon Road and the City's northern limit (north of Fairfield Ranch Road).

Current Construction Activities:

The project is awarded to Sequel Contractors, Inc.
Construction is anticipated to begin May 2025 and reach completion by end of September 2025.

Notice of Exemption (NOE) - Filed April 24, 2024

Construction Timeframe:
During construction please note work hours will be limited to 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
All work within CalTrans right-of-way must adhere to approved traffic control plans.
