Meet Chino Valley Fire District Chief Tim Shackelford

Photo of Fire Chief Tim ShackelfordTim Shackelford was appointed Fire Chief in May 2014.  Tim resides in the City of Chino Hills with his wife Shannon, they have two adult two children, Riley and Addison.

Chief Shackelford was born in Sierra Madre, California, and grew up in Diamond Bar, where he graduated from Diamond Bar High School.   Tim attended paramedic school at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut.  Tim has an A.S. degree in Fire Technology, a B.S. degree in Fire Science and a Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health.  Additionally, Tim completed the National Fire Academy Executive Fire Officer Program and is also a certified Special District Administrator through the California Special Districts Association.

The Chief began his career with the Chino Valley Fire District in December 1991.  Prior to being appointed Fire Chief he held the positions of Firefighter, Firefighter/Paramedic, Captain, EMS Training Captain, Training & Safety Battalion Chief, Shift Battalion Chief, Deputy Chief/Fire Marshal and Deputy Chief of Operations.
