Draft District Maps
There are eight Draft District Maps listed below.  There are four maps developed by the City’s consultant, NDC Demographics (NDC), and two maps submitted by citizens during the Public Hearing on March 14, 2017.  One citizen worked with NDC to refine his proposal in an effort to match boundaries to Census Block Groups and develop Demographic Statistics for Gallagher Refined Map.  The original citizen-drawn maps below do not include Demographic Statistics.  For all others, there are links to Adobe PDF maps and PDF demographic profiles; and a link to an interactive map that allows you to zoom in and out to see plan details.  The Draft District Maps may be viewed digitally below, or in person at the Chino Hills City Clerk’s Office, second floor, 14000 City Center Drive during regular business hours (M-Th 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, and F 7:30 am – 4:30 pm).

District Map Principles
The Draft District Maps developed by NDC followed traditional redistricting principles to draw District Boundaries that:
  • Include Communities of Interest
  • Are Compact and Contiguous
  • Have Visible (Natural and Man-made) Boundaries
  • Use Whole Census Blocks
  • Respect Voters’ Wishes / And Avoid Pairing Current City Council Members in One District
  • Balance the Population Between the Districts (Approximately 15,000 Residents)

Opportunities for Public Comment
A Public Hearing regarding the Draft District Maps was held at a regularly scheduled City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 11th.  The next scheduled Public Hearing will be on Tuesday, May 23rd. The City Council may select a preferred map and introduce an Ordinance to adopt the District Map at the May 23, 2017 Public Hearing. Residents will have the opportunity to provide comments and input at each Public Hearing. Comments may also be submitted in writing and provided to the City Clerk at 14000 City Center Drive, Chino Hills, CA 91709.
