The Buddhist Temple of Chino Hills has formally applied for a General Plan Amendment, a Zone Change, a Tentative Parcel Map, a Site Plan Review, and a Conditional Use Permit entitlement application to construct a new Buddhist Temple at their existing location on the northeast corner of Chino Hills Parkway and Rustic Drive.  The General Plan Amendment is to change the General Plan Land Use designation of the project site from Commercial to Institutional and the Zone Change is to change the zoning designation of the project site from Neighborhood Commercial (C-N) to Institutional-Private (I-1).  The project will consist of five buildings totaling 23,400 square feet and will include a new Buddha Hall, a meditation area/multi-purpose building, a classroom/office building, a monk dormitory, and a kitchen/restroom building.

Project is currently processing entitlement applications.   

A Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration has been prepared for the project and released for public review.
