Join the City of Chino Hills for a free Emergency Preparedness Workshop on Thursday, September 28 at 7:00 pm at the Chino Hills Community Center located at 14250 Peyton Drive. Learn how to build a family emergency plan, visit various information booths, learn official sources of emergency information, and enter giveaways for free prizes.
During the presentation, the City of Chino Hills will walk residents through the basics of building their own at-home family emergency plan and how emergency notifications are activated and sent in the community. Chino Valley Fire District (CVFD) will cover the importance of wildfire preparedness, hardening of homes, and defensible space. The Chino Hills Police Department (CHPD) will walk residents through evacuation procedures and emergency communications, including Reverse 9-1-1 and Swift911. Southern California Edison (SCE) will also give an overview of being prepared for a power outage, Public Safety Power Shutoffs, and preparedness efforts and resources for residents.
In addition to the City of Chino Hills, CHPD, CVFD, and SCE, various community partners and local organizations will be in attendance and have information tables including the American Red Cross, Chino Hills Auxiliary Radio Team (CHART), Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A, LifeStream, and SoCalGas.
All attendees will receive a free emergency survival bracelet equipped with a compass, whistle, and paracord at the end of the presentation while supplies last.
