The City of Chino Hills has approved a series of temporary policies to help residents and businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City stopped issuing yard sale permits in mid-March due to the pandemic. Yard sale permits are now being issued at no cost, to help residents who cleaned out closets while staying at home. The $10 yard sale permit fee has been waived. These policies will remain in effect until the current COVID-19 emergency is terminated by the City Council. The City recommends that persons wear face masks and maintain six feet of physical distance while conducting or visiting yard sales.
Applicants may complete an online application. No visit to City Hall is required. The application may be returned by email. Permits may also be obtained at the Code Enforcement counter on the second floor at City Hall, 14000 City Center Drive from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday. Masks are required at City Hall.
Yard sales are limited to the applicant’s own personal used property. It is a violation of the Municipal Code to sell new merchandise, items made for boutiques, or items that have been acquired or consigned for resale. For more information contact Code Enforcement via email or call (909) 364-2757.
