Closures, Cancellations, & Service Modifications


City Facilities CLOSED to the Public
Through April 30 (closures could be extended) 

  • Chino Hills Community Center (Opened Monday, April 5 for limited use of restrooms only)
  • McCoy Equestrian and Recreation Center (Barn) & Residence (Warm-up Arenas Opened June 18)
  • Sleepy Hollow Community Center
  • Mystic Canyon Building
  • Grand Avenue Park Community Building and Staff Offices
  • Hockey Rinks are CLOSED
  • Basketball Courts ARE OPEN 
  • City Park Playgrounds and Exercise Stations ARE OPEN 
  • Parks ARE OPEN 

County Facilities at Government Center

  • James S. Thalman Chino Hills Branch Library IS OPEN for normal hours of operation as of April 10, 2021. Indoor services include public computer access (limit 1 hour) and access to the library collection. The Library will continue to offer curbside Library To-Go Services to ensure residents have the option of entering the facility or receiving services and materials at the door.The Library's operating hours are as follow:
    • Monday through Thursday from 10:00 am - 8:00 pm
    • Fridays from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
    • Saturdays from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
    • Sundays from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Modified Services at Chino Hills City Hall 

  • Water Service Disconnections are Postponed
  • Street Sweeping Tickets are Suspended

Republic Services Trash Pickup

Effective March 30, 2020, Republic Services has made some service modifications. 

  • Drivers will no longer be allowed to leave their vehicle to pick up waste outside of the cart
  • E-waste programs are suspended
  • Bulky item pickup was restored as of May 18, 2020
  • Pick up of appliances containing Freon and CFCs was restored as of April 13, 2021
  • Curbside used oil recycling is suspended
  • Curbside recycling and yard waste collection services WILL remain in place
  • Commercial accounts with fewer than six-day-pickup will be serviced Monday - Friday only
