The City of Chino Hills has consistently made it a priority to prepare to respond to disasters. Emergency supplies are stored at various municipal buildings in Chino Hills. City employees have been trained in the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS), and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) for their role as Disaster Service Workers and they have participated in many inter-agency drills and training sessions.
The Chino Hills Auxiliary Radio Team (CHART), the City's volunteer ham radio team, has participated in many of these drills and they have continued to upgrade the City's Emergency Communications Van. Special consideration has been given to evacuating special needs residents in Carbon Canyon and animal evacuation has also been included in the planning process.
