Peyton Drive Construction - Phase 3
This Peyton Drive widening, Phase 3 project will result in the widening of Peyton Drive between Eucalyptus Avenue and Chino Hills Parkway to two lanes in each direction with Carbon Canyon and English Channel improvements.
Current Construction and Traffic Impacts:
July 6th-10th
Construction during the week of July 6th – 10th will require a road closure for the construction of the box culvert in the roadway on Peyton Drive south of Eucalyptus Avenue.  Motorists will use the bypass road on Monday, July 6th from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.  On Tuesday, July 7th use of the bypass road will begin at 7:00 am and will be in use overnight and continuously until as late as Thursday morning.  After that the bypass road will be used for the remainder of that week during the normal construction hours of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.   As with all construction, conditions in the field can change this schedule.  Please plan ahead and expect minor delays.  Motorists are required to slow down and drive cautiously through the construction zone and anytime that construction crews are working in or near the roadway.

Pedestrians will not be allowed to walk through the construction zone and will be required to use the walking path alongside the bypass road as well.  Signage will alert pedestrians of the Peyton Drive walking path closure.  Because safety is of the utmost concern, pedestrians are encouraged to use the bypass road path for the duration of the remaining construction whether or not the bypass road is in use by motorists.  Pedestrians are encouraged to use crosswalks whenever possible.

The project schedule is subject to change. When the bypass road is in use, please drive cautiously at a reduced speed in the construction zone. Remember to check live conditions with the OXblue app (directions below) or click on the webcam.  Avoid the area if possible

General Traffic Information
The contractor is required to maintain one lane of traffic in each direction unless approved by the City Engineer. In an effort to reduce the impact on morning school traffic, the contractor has been directed to make every effort to avoid encroaching into the travel lanes from 7:00 – 9:00 am and after 3:30 pm, unless absolutely necessary, and approved in advance. Normal working hours for the project are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Schedules and plans are subject to change due to emergencies, weather, and other factors.
There may be periods of flagman-controlled traffic throughout the project. Motorists are encouraged to use another route, if possible, and expect delays. Motorists are advised to slow down in the construction area for the safety of the workers. If the traffic signal is flashing red, motorists must treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
