Peyton Drive Construction
Peyton Drive Construction - Phase 3
This Peyton Drive widening, Phase 3 project will result in the widening of Peyton Drive between Eucalyptus Avenue and Chino Hills Parkway
to two lanes in each direction with Carbon Canyon and English Channel improvements.
Current Construction and Traffic Impacts:
July 27- July 31
Construction crews during the week of July 27 – 31st will require a road closure for a portion of Eucalyptus Avenue from Peyton Drive to the entrance to Community Park, and will require motorists to use the bypass road to continue their travel along Eucalyptus Avenue. The bypass road will be in use the entire week from 7:00 am to 4:30 p.m. as construction crews install a portion of the Peyton Drive storm drain.
This is the first time the bypass road will be used for a Eucalyptus Avenue road closure and is deployed in a slightly different method than when it was in use for a Peyton Drive closure. Motorists are urged to use due caution because this use of the bypass road does not include any stop signs along Peyton Drive, so when motorists are on the bypass road they will need to heed stop signs and look both directions for oncoming traffic to carefully merge onto the ongoing traffic flow as they turn onto Peyton Drive.
As with all construction, conditions in the field can change this schedule. Please plan ahead and expect minor delays. Motorists are required to slow down and drive cautiously through the construction zone and anytime that construction crews are working in or near the roadway.
Remember to check live conditions with the OXblue app (directions below) or click on the webcam. Avoid the area if possible
General Traffic Information
The contractor is required to maintain one lane of traffic in each direction unless approved by the City Engineer. In an effort to reduce the impact on morning school traffic, the contractor has been directed to make every effort to avoid encroaching into the travel lanes from 7:00 – 9:00 am and after 3:30 pm, unless absolutely necessary, and approved in advance. Normal working hours for the project are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Schedules and plans are subject to change due to emergencies, weather, and other factors.
There may be periods of flagman-controlled traffic throughout the project. Motorists are encouraged to use another route, if possible, and expect delays. Motorists are advised to slow down in the construction area for the safety of the workers. If the traffic signal is flashing red, motorists must treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
