What We Do
The Parks and Open Space staff is responsible for the maintenance of over 47,500 trees located on publicly maintained land throughout the community.

Trees are a valuable asset because they:
  • Provide shade
  • Deflect the wind
  • Clean the air
  • Reduce noise levels
  • Tremendously enhance the appearance of our neighborhoods

Preserving Trees
Chino Hills is dedicated to preserving trees because of their inherent value to the community. Trees are trimmed in conformance with the International Society of Arboriculture Standards to enhance the health and integrity of our City's trees. Trees are trimmed on a 3 to 5 year cycle dependent upon the health, location, and species of the tree.

Trees are not trimmed due to:
  • leaf litter
  • view from homeowner property
  • personal preference.

Residents are asked not to trim City trees; we have Certified Arborists on Staff.
