Meet City Engineer Steve Nix

Steve Nix was appointed as the City Engineer for the City of Chino Hills in September 2008.  He is a licensed Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor with 27 years experience having worked for both public agencies and private engineering firms.

His project experience ranges from residential subdivisions, commercial and industrial projects, to public works projects.  He worked for the cities of Upland and Riverside, as well as for a number of private engineering firms including L.D. King, Lockman & Associates, and R.B.F.

Mr. Nix came to the City of Chino Hills in May of 2004 as the Assistant City Engineer.  For the past few years he has worked extensively with a series of major projects along the Peyton Drive corridor including completing the engineering for the City’s new Government Center and the Shoppes at Chino Hills.  He served as the project manager for the $12 million Peyton Drive / Grand Avenue improvements that were completed in August 2008.  As Assistant City Engineer, he had oversight responsibility for the Vellano and Fieldstone residential projects, and for The Commons and Soquel Canyon Crossings commercial developments.  He also completed several major capital improvement projects for the City including infrastructure improvements in Los Serranos (Phase 1a), Community Facilities District #9 Flood Control Channel, and the Soquel Canyon Pump Station.
