Any day now residents will be receiving their 2010 Census questionaire, and assistance in filling out the questionaire is available in two ways. A nationwide Census Hotline and a Census Assistance Center at Chino Hills City Hall are available. Please fill out the Census questionaire and return it as soon as possible. The questionaire consists of only 10 questions and will only take you a few short minutes to fill out. If you need assistance you can call the nationwide Census Hotline at (866) 872-6868 for English. Other language assistance is available, click on the link provided below. A Census Assistance Center will be open at the Chino Hills City Hall lobby from March 19th through April 19th. The City of Chino Hills free Water Wise Gardening Workshop for the Home on March 20th, 2010 has been rescheduled to April 24th. Learn about landscape design basics, plant selection, irrigation and soil. Please call (909) 364-2807 or email publicworks@chinohills.org for further information and to register for the workshop. Participants must register by April 19th.
The City of Chino Hills held a Community Meeting regarding the Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project (TRTP) on Wed. Feb. 24th. The Federal Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (HERA)can provide funds to eligible homebuyers who are looking to buy foreclosed homes located in eligible neighborhoods, including those in Chino Hills. Known as the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP), this federal initiative is designed to meet the needs of communities that have been impacted by foreclosures. The City of Chino Hills has received its own allocation of NSP funds and has partnered with the County of San Bernardino's Department of Community Development and Housing (County) to implement the program. The Chino Hills Farmer's Market is every Wednesday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Shoppes at Chino Hills. Vendors are on hand to sell fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, honey, beef jerky, spices, baked goods, plants, sausage and other various items.
